ARC451 | Writer's Retreat
Dialogues With Nature And Living
The Writer's Retreat project was our first opportunity to design an actual building. The brief set out guidelines of no more than 60 square metres of heated space and a retreat that met all the needs of a writer. I wanted my retreat to fit seamlessly into its environment and allow the writer a secluded, quiet, peaceful environment to work. The final concept was a balance between mass and light with a corten steel frame that enveloped the structure and connected physically to the site.
